Union Update (7-7-2023): Vehicle damage or theft reimbursement; President introduction; President retirement celebration
July 6, 2023

BENTE UNION MEMBERS, please take note of the following updates:

NEW UNION PRESIDENT INTRODUCTION: For those who don’t know me, allow me to introduce myself. I have been employed with the District since 1997, as a Telephone Technician and have been involved with the Union since 2003. I have held the positions of Trustee, Central Office Steward, Chief Steward, and Vice President. I have had the privilege of working side by side with Dan which has allowed me this opportunity to continue to lead our Union into the future. I will continue to update the membership through these emails as well as continuing the BENTE Informer. Please feel free to contact me at the office or by email with any questions you may have.

VEHICLE DAMAGE OR THEFT: We are finalizing an agreement with the District that will allow us to reimburse a portion of the deductible. For those that have had their vehicle vandalized or stolen while on or adjacent to District property, while completing employment duties in their primary work assignment on behalf of the District. This agreement covers damage that occurred to a registered vehicle between September 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. You will need to supply the following information:

  • Date of claimed damage.
  • Police report documentation.
  • Deductible information from the applicable insurance policy.
  • Repair cost documentation.

If you have any questions or were impacted by these unfortunate events, please contact the Union Office at 458-8670 so we can begin to collect your information.

LABOR DAY PARADE: Plan on joining us at this year’s Labor Day Parade that will be held on September 4th. I will send an update as we get closer to this grand event.

BENTE OFFICE: We are currently on track to move into our new office in September. We are planning to host unit trainings, general membership meetings, along with new and exciting events that will be taking place in the meeting hall. So be on the lookout and visit our website at www.bentelocal2419.org for updates.

DAN’S RETIREMENT PARTY: Please see the attached flier for Dan’s party. We are anticipating a large crowd and have limited space so reserve your spot today.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to email me directly at ange@bentelocal2419.org.
