I am proud to announce that we have successfully negotiated a Tentative Collective Bargaining Agreement between the BENTE Union and the Rochester City School District. The agreement must be ratified by the members of BENTE and voted on by the RCSD Board of Education.
CONTRACT RATIFICATION
Tuesday, August 20, 2024
7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
BENTE Union Hall, 1956 Lyell Avenue
Voting for the proposed Tentative Agreement between the BENTE union and the RCSD will take place all day on Tuesday, August 20th between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Handouts outlining every change in the new Collective Bargaining unit will be available for all members who attend the ratification meeting. They have also been mailed to your residences and emailed to your RCSD email.
In order to attend the meeting and to cast your ballot for the proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement, you must be a dues paying member of the BENTE union.
Please contact the Union office at 458-8670 if you have any questions or concerns regarding your eligibility to vote.
On ratification day, please be aware of the following:
Members must present a photo ID – either your employee ID or a driver’s license.
All members must be present to vote. No write-in or absentee ballots will be allowed.
Votes will be counted at 6PM, members are invited to attend.
Official results of the ratification will be posted on the BENTE website at www.bentelocal2419.org.
The BENTE/AFSCME Local 2419 Negotiating Team unanimously approved the agreement.

Labor Day Parade:
For those of you who are interested in joining us on Monday, September 2nd, we will be lining up on N. Union Street (between Charlotte Street and East Avenue) beginning at 10:00 a.m. Parking will be very limited at the parade site, but you can park at the Service Center (835 Hudson Avenue) and ride the school bus; the bus will leave promptly at 9:30 a.m. Refreshments will be available, and all participants will receive a BENTE tee shirt until they are gone. BENTE members who march in the parade will receive a free Seabreeze ticket and up to 6 guest tickets can be purchased at $25.00 each (each person must march in the parade). Tickets to Seabreeze include ride and slide, all you can eat picnic and free parking.
Please call the union office in advance at 458-8670 to sign up before Friday, August 30th so that we will have enough tickets available at the parade for everyone to purchase.
